LOTR: Rings of Power Reportedly Adds The Sandman and Doctor Who Actors For Season 2


The Lord of the Rings Season 1 has proven to be quite successful seeing as it garnered more than 100 million viewers worldwide on its streaming site, Amazon Prime Video, which indicates the show is the biggest premiere Amazon has ever had. With Season 1 ending on a cliffhanger, it is no surprise that it has received a go-signal for a Season 2.

Previously, LOTR: The Rings of Power Season 2 has added seven cast members such as Gabriel Akuwudike (Hanna, Ridley Road), Yasen “Zates” Atour (The Witcher, Young Wallander), Ben Daniels (Jupiter’s Legacy, The Crown), Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle (Persuasion), Nicholas Woodeson (Silent Witness, Rome), and Sam Hazeldine set to replace Joseph Mawle for the role of orc leader Adar.

Now, it seems that the second season has grown more on its variety pack as Amazon has just announced eight more members. While their character role details are being kept under wraps, they are reportedly looking into having recurring roles in the series.

The eight new cast members include Oliver Alvin-Wilson (Lovesick, Wonder Woman 1984), Stuart Bowman (Alex Rider, The Pact), Gavi Singh Chera (The Lazarus Project, The Uncleared War), William Chubb (Vampire Academy, The Sandman), Kevin Eldon (Game of Thrones, Shadow and Bone, Doctor Who), Will Keen (Ridley Road), Selina Lo (Boss Level), and Calam Lynch (Bridgerton, Derry Girls).

The Rings of Power Season 2 will probably continue to grow its casting family, but you can’t deny that the upcoming season is looking good with its variety of actors soon to be seen on screen with their recurring roles. The head of global television for Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, has previously welcomed their new cast members for Season 2. Check out Vernon's quote below:

There are no official announcements yet on the release date for The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2, but it is presumed they will not be releasing until at least in late 2023 or early 2024.

Meanwhile, The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
