Lily-Rose Depp to Show Sexy, Provocative Side on The Idol but How Did She Do It?

Lily-Rose Depp will play her first TV role in the new HBO show The Idol. For her first starrer, Johnny Depp's daughter will be sexy, provocative, and bold, but how did she manage to do it?

In an interview with Elle magazine, Depp talked about The Idol and her working relationship with the creator Sam Levinson, who's also behind the success of Euphoria, and her co-star Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd. Thankfully, she's friends with these two, making working on the series much easier.

The Idol's Daring Content

The Idol is now dubbed the Euphoria for adults due to its daring content. So, how did she handle it, considering she's a first-timer?

She felt blessed that she had to do it with Levinson and Tesfaye, making her "incredibly safe and protected."

"I'm not interested in making anything puritanical. I'm not interested in making anything that doesn't challenge me or challenge other people, honestly," she said. "I think this show is fearless, and that's something that I've been really excited and proud to dive into. I can't wait for you guys to see it."

The 23-year-old added that the actor-musician is a "really good friend" who has her back.

Their friendship even turns more special after working on and experiencing something new together.

"We've gone on this wild ride together," she continued. "It was a first for both of us in a lot of ways."

Depp admitted that it's difficult to do something like The Idol for it could be "so vulnerable in so many ways" if there were no trust between the collaborators.

Fortunately, she's enjoying playing her role.

"There's nothing more fun to me than sinking my teeth into something and trying to understand it through and through," she added.

The Idol's Synopsis, Preview, and Other Details

The Idol is HBO's new offering.

"The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol," its official synopsis reads, per Hypebae.

As it's now being groomed as the adult version of Euphoria, it's expected to be riskier, making it Levinson's most provocative work to date.

In the preview, the emerging pop star, Jocelyn (Depp), can be seen navigating the music industry and her complicated relationship with a Los Angeles club owner, Tedros (Tesfaye). She, too, has to handle her overwhelming feelings about fame, sex, and drugs.
