Liam Neeson was surprised at how his recent appearance on The View turned out. The 70-year-old veteran actor spoke about his segment on the ABC talk show to promote his new crime-mystery movie, Marlowe.

Liam Neeson Finds The View Guesting 'Embarrassing'

Neeson appeared on The View on Feb. 15 to promote his new film, Marlowe. However, the segment became a discussion of Joy Behar's long-standing crush on him.

"I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great," Neeson told Rolling Stone.

"They're talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it's an American problem. I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion."

He continued:

"And then our segment starts and it's just all this BS with Joy [Behar] and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I've known Whoopi [Goldberg] for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn't impressed."

He told Rolling Stone that he got "uncomfortable in those situations." He added that he had an "intelligent conversation" with Sunny Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, after the show.

But he still took issue with what was aired. Neeson said about the interview:

"The segment's all about this — oof — 13, 14-year-old crush. It's just a bit embarrassing."

What Happened During Liam Neeson's Interview On The View?

Neeson and the hosts talked about Marlowe and showed some clips from the movie. At one point, Behar brought up the Valentine's card she received from Neeson.

"I got this Valentine from you," she said while opening a white envelope. "It says, 'Happy Belated Valentines' Day, Liam X.' Then I found out you gave it to everyone., all of us."

Co-host Ana Navarro jabbed Behar about her crush on Neeson, while Alyssa Farah Griffin joked that the longtime panelist "wants to get taken" by the performer.

Hostin opined that Behar would believe anything Neeson says.

"She will believe anything you say because it's not a secret that Joy thinks you're the hottest, greatest ever."

Hostin added that in case there were any doubts, they had a video to support it. They then played a supercut of Behar's numerous mentions of Neeson's name over the years, including a time when she said she wanted her ashes sprinkled over Neeson's. She also admitted that his kidnapping movies "aroused" her.
