LE SSERAFIM Kazuha is now enjoying her life as a K-pop idol after being a fan in the past.
Last month, Kazuha officially became part of HYBE’s first girl group before their debut on May 2. They have been conquering different music shows since then and recently took home their first-ever win on The Show.
Before her debut, she was known as a professional ballet dancer and a K-pop fan. Now that she, herself, is an idol, Kazuha revealed that she still has a favorite K-pop group that inspires her in her new life journey.

LE SSERAFIM Kazuha Reveals Her Favorite Group
On Thursday, LE SSERAFIM’s management agency, SOURCE MUSIC, released Kazuha’s first-ever interview on its online fan community. During the discussion, the idol took her time to reveal her favorite K-pop group and the song she used in her audition.
According to Kazuha, she fell in love with K-pop after listening to BLACKPINK’s BOOMBAYAH on one random day. Since then, she constantly felt that a whole new world opened up for her.
"I saw BLACKPINK performing live at a concert in Osaka later on. When I saw their performance with my own eyes, I became totally overwhelmed. I cried there. It was cool in a different way to ballet performances. That was when I wanted to be on stage too. BLACKPINK members are pretty, cool and charismatic. I wanted to be like them―a cool girl, rather than a cute girl,” she said.

Kazuha also revealed that she submitted a dance cover of BTS’ Dynamite to SOURCE MUSIC. She particularly performed the song’s dance break and sent a video of her doing ballet.
She added that she watched BTS’ performances while getting ready for the audition since the boy group impressed her with their same dance moves but different styles.
What Pushed Kazuha To Become a K-pop Idol
Before officially debuting as an idol, she poured everything into ballet. Kazuha noted how she began ballet when she was three after her mother sent her to a ballet studio near their home.
Although it was not her choice to start ballet, she began to have fun whenever she joined competitions. She also looked up to ballet dancers and realized she wanted to become one of them.
But while doing so, Kazuha suddenly asked herself if it was really the thing she wanted to pursue. From there, it hit her that she also wanted to try expressing herself in different ways – like performing K-pop music.
"At that time, all the K-pop auditions were taking place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that gave me an unexpected opportunity. I didn't have many ballet classes at school around that time as well. So, I just decided, 'Let's just do it!', then sent in my audition video to SOURCE MUSIC,” she went on.
With LE SSERAFIM’s debut, Kazuha finally scored the chance to pursue her dream while expressing herself.
