Lady Louise just turned 18 and one of the biggest questions surrounding the 16th in line to the throne is whether she will use her HRH title. Lady Louise’s mom, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, previously said that she doesn’t think her two children will use their HRH titles because they will most likely get a job after they finish school.
Sophie wasn’t wrong to make this assumption because new reports revealed that Lady Louise decided to not use her royal title. Even though she won’t be working as a senior royal in the near future, Lady Louise is still, reportedly, an asset to the royal family.
Prince William, Kate Middleton Adore Lady Louise
Woman’s Day, in its Nov. 22 issue, claimed that Lady Louise is adored by the royal family most especially by Prince William and Kate Middleton. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge is aware that his younger cousin is smarter than him because, at her young age, Lady Louise is able to think of solutions that even the future king cannot think of.
“There’s no doubt Lady Louise is a shining light for the royal family and the queen sees her as a very important part of her legacy. While a lot hinges on her exam results, Louise’s temperament and extreme calm under pressure has proven invaluable over the past years. Kate and Wills adore her, and she’s had the ear of the queen since she was 16,” an unnamed source said.
Lady Louise Looking At Universities
Lady Louise is reportedly in her final year of middle school, and she will soon have a gap year before entering the university. Prince Edward and Sophie don’t have anything to worry about because their daughter is, reportedly, not the type that likes to party.
In fact, the 18-year-old is busy looking at her university options as early as now.
“She’s got a natural instinct for politics and always manages to come up with a new angle to situations that not even William has thought of. But whatever path she chooses, she’s proven herself loyal to the family. She’s watched and learned, and she’s going to prove invaluable to the next generation of royals. Using the title of princess isn’t a priority for her at the moment,” the unnamed source concluded.
New Idea, in its Nov. 22 issue, published a similar story about Lady Louise. They said that the teenager rejected her royal title because she prefers to lead a normal life.
Last year, Sophie revealed that her daughter is working hard because she’s planning to do A-levels. The doting mom said that her hope is for Lady Louise to go to university, but it’s not something that she would force her daughter to do.
Sophie thinks that her daughter is quite clever that’s why studying at a university will be good for her.
Lady Louise Has Been Supporting The Royal Family Since Prince Philip’s Death
Even though Lady Louise won’t be working as a senior royal in the coming years, she has started making more public appearances in recent months.
Following Prince Philip’s death, Lady Louise joined her parents when they paid tribute to the late royal. And just two months ago, she appeared in the BBC documentary Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers.
“The Duke of Edinburgh has been so involved in my driving which has been lovely, but slightly scary because he invented the sport pretty much, but it's incredible to have learned first-hand from him and definitely made us closer, I think. After a competition, he would always ask how he went, his eyes would light up because he would get so excited when he talks about it,” Lady Louise said in the documentary.

Prince Edward, Sophie’s Daughter Dubbed As Royal Family’s Secret Weapon
Earlier this month, Mirror UK called Lady Louise the royal family’s new secret weapon. The publication also revealed that some royal experts think that Lady Louise could play a key role in The Firm going forward.
Lady Louise reportedly grew up close to her grandparents. But as a kid, her childhood was so normal that she didn’t have any idea that her grandma is the queen. It was only after her classmates pointed this out that she asked her parents if what they’re saying is true.
“The Queen loves the fact that Louise and James relish their time at Balmoral, and she has become particularly close to Louise, who seems to have become her favorite grandchild, closely followed by James,” a source said.
