Eternals Actors Join Ghostbusters: Afterlife Sequel


Production has finally started on the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel and fans are looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the follow-up, especially since they will return to New York City and the iconic firehouse headquarters. It is also part of Sony's attempt to revitalize the franchise again.

So far, the plot details also remain under wraps regarding the sequel except that the characters from the previous film are set to return. It is also expected that the sequel will introduce new characters and there are questions about which actors they might recruit to join the Ghostbusters universe.

Now, we finally have exciting casting news about the sequel as Deadline has confirmed that Eternals stars Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt are joining the cast of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel together with James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind. However, the details regarding their respective roles are being kept under wraps.

The returning cast members include Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O'Connor, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and Ernie Hudson. Gil Kenan is directing and co-writing the film with Jason Reitman, who helmed Afterlife and is also serving in producing capacity this time around.

It is certainly exciting to see that Nanjiani and Oswalt are going to be part of the film since they are talented and funny actors who can fit into the world of Ghostbusters. It is curious to see how they'll play into the story of the film and whether they will be on the good side or on the villain's side.

We might be hearing more details about the sequel in the coming weeks as they just started filming. It's also curious to see if more legacy cast members will make appearances from Hudson, who is expected to have a major role.
