Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been at odds with the members of the royal family, in particular Prince William and King Charles. However, the new monarch had reportedly already decided their fate.

'Ruthless' King Charles Will Exile Prince Harry Amid Family Drama

An anonymous palace source spoke with the Daily Beast about the new king's plot about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. King Charles will reportedly follow how the royal family dealt with the scandal triggered by King Edward VIII.

King Edward VIII abdicated the throne and chose the love of his life. He stepped down from his royal duties to be with Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American.

Prince Harry and Markle will face the same fate as King Edward VIII and Simpson. The outlet that "Prince Harry faces [a] life of permanent 'exile.'"

"The royals handled the abdication crisis by exiling Edward which meant he and Wallis ultimately came to seem like unimportant, misguided, disloyal, and even treacherous individuals to almost the entirety of the British people. It was a masterful operation in the service of which the Queen Mother, in particular, worked tirelessly," a friend of King Charles told the outlet. "The same thing is already happening with Harry and Meghan, and will only gather pace over the next few years under the rule of King Charles."

The insider added that Prince Harry is a "far less of an existential threat" to the monarchy compared to King Edward VIII, who was a wayward king. But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already sparked several dramas with their interviews and Prince Harry's upcoming memoir. And King Charles will reportedly be "ruthless" in protecting the crown.

"Charles will be ruthless when it comes to protecting the Crown, and that means keeping Harry and Meghan as far from the center of gravity as possible," the former staffer added.

A Queen's confidante even told royal expert and author Katie Nicholl that the late monarch confided to them that she was "exhausted by the turmoil of their decision."

"She [the Queen] was very hurt and told me, 'I don't know, I don't care, and I don't want to think about it anymore,'" Nicholl wrote in her new book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown about the drama involving the Sussexes.

King Charles Already Revealed Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Fate In His Speech

Another tipster, a former Buckingham Palace staffer,  told the outlet that King Charles had already announced Prince Harry and Markle's fate implicitly in his inaugural speech. The insider noted that a particular line in his speech, "continue to build their lives overseas", is an "undisguised message" to the Sussexes not to make frequent trips to the United Kingdom during his reign.

"I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas," Prince Charles said in his speech, as quoted by The New York Times.

In the same speech, he also showered his eldest son, the new Prince of Wales, Prince William, with praises, and so as his wife, Kate Middleton. King Charles expressed his confidence in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

"As my Heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me. He succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall which I have undertaken for more than five decades," Prince Charles said.

"Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty. With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the center ground where vital help can be given."
