King Charles’ relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remains strained to this day. But there was a glimmer of hope last month when the monarch issued a special shoutout to the couple following Queen Elizabeth’s death. However, there haven’t been many updates about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with the monarch since they returned to the United States.

King Charles Still Wants To Reconcile With Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

While speaking with Fox News, royal author Katie Nicholl talked about King Charles’ relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. She said that the monarch hopes that reconciliation between him and the Sussexes can happen one day.

It is also possible for King Charles to extend a final olive branch to Prince Harry and Markle. And this could come in the form of two royal titles for his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

“Charles absolutely has been devastated by what has happened. If you think back just a couple of years around the time of [the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s] wedding, the relationship between Harry and his father was, I think, probably better than it ever had been… Harry and Meghan spent time with Charles and Camilla in Scotland. They went on holiday together. It all looked very rosy and very happy,” she said.

King Charles Could Give Archie, Lilibet Royal Titles

Nicholl also pointed out that King Charles had already extended several olive branches to Prince Harry and Markle during the queen’s funeral. So, it would be interesting to see if his final olive branch is giving his grandchildren royal titles.

“And of course, there’s the matter of titles, whether [his grandchildren] Archie and Lilibet will get [them]. Will that be… the final olive branch that is offered? I think we’ll hear about that imminently,” she said.

King Charles Loves Prince Harry That’s Why He Wants To Reconcile With Him

The royal author added that King Charles is determined to resolve his issues with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because he loves his son.

“He wants to do it on a personal level because he loves his son. He’s never stopped loving his son. He may not be happy about everything that’s been said, but he wants to have a relationship with Harry and he wants to have a relationship with his grandchildren,” she said.

King Charles will be crowned on May 6. According to Mirror UK, the date was chosen following a consultation with the Church of England, the government, and the royal household. But the date is also significant for Prince Harry and Markle because this is the date Archie was born.

As such, there are questions as to whether Prince Harry and Markle would attend King Charles’ coronation. As of writing, the official guest list has not yet been released. But the ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, which is a huge venue.
