Queen Consort Camilla Will Be Known As Queen Dowager If King Charles Passes Before Her?

In related news, much has been said about Queen Consort Camilla being given this royal title instead of Princess Consort as what was originally planned. Months before her death, Queen Elizabeth said that it was her hope that King Charles' wife would be given the title of queen consort.

"I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service," the queen said in part.

So, after the queen's passing, King Charles immediately assumed the role of monarch. And his wife became known as the queen consort.

According to W Magazine, King Charles' wife will also be allowed to use the title queen even if her husband passes away before her. More specifically, Queen Consort Camilla will be known as Queen Dowager following King Charles' demise.

When this unfortunate day comes, Prince William will then be known as King William. And his wife, Kate Middleton, will be styled as the new queen consort.
