British girl group Spice Girls are set to reunite at the coronation of King Charles III on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, a new report claimed.

An unnamed insider told The Sun that royal organizers are “super keen” to secure the iconic ‘90s girl bank, who are said to be “seriously pondering a return to the stage as a five-piece” for the imminent historical event.

The source shared:

“The reality is that the Coronation is as special as The Olympics — a one-off celebration and unique performance. There is a general sense that a reunion could happen for something this significant. Mel B and Mel C are the ring leaders in the group, trying to make it happen.”

Most, if not all, royal fans can recall that Buckingham Palace announced, in October 2022, the details of the Coronation of King Charles III. It was also revealed that the Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct the ceremony and “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future.”

The royal celebrations will continue on May 7 with a special Coronation Concert that is set to be broadcast live from Windsor. Although the line-up of stars to perform is yet to be finalized, Mel B, Melanie C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham will reportedly reunite for the first time in a decade to mark the occasion.

Meanwhile, Mel B disclosed, during an appearance on the American talk show Sherri earlier this month, that the group “did get together a couple of months ago” and teased that they are talking about “doing something” together “very soon.”

Should the Spice Girls indeed take the stage at the forthcoming royal concert, it will mark the first time they perform together as five since the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. The royal concert will reportedly be staged and broadcast live on BBC. Buckingham Palace has also confirmed that “several thousand pairs of tickets” would be made available to the public via an official ballot.
