King Charles wants both of his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, present during his coronation. However, a broadcaster warned that the Sussexes would only turn the event into a Kardashian-style saga.

King Charles Warned Against Inviting Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Coronation

There are mixed opinions about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's attendance at King Charles' upcoming coronation. Some want them present, while many also wish they would skip the event after the attacks they launched against the royal family in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and his memoir Spare.

Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue said having the Sussexes is "a bit of a gamble."

"[The Palace] feels like if they invite the Sussexes, they can get ahead of the story because, one way or another, they will still feature in the coronation whether they are there or not," Krakue claimed, Express reported. "They have made sure that whatever happens with the royals, the spotlight is on them as well."

She understood King Charles' intention to invite the Sussexes. However, he also warned His Majesty that the Brits were already "sick" of the royal couple based in Los Angeles.

"So, I kind of understand the stance the King is taking, but the reality is: The coronation is still a public affair, it's still a public event. I think many Britons are getting quite sick of this saga," she continued.

"It's a tradition that we love and we would just like to perpetuate it and have it relevant to modern times. I don't think we want to carry on this Kardashian-style ridiculous affair to the coronation, which is exactly what would happen if the Sussexes do attend."

How Determined Is King Charles To Have Prince Harry, Meghan Markle At His Coronation?

The King, who will be crowned on May 6, is reportedly very determined to have the Duke and Duchess of Sussex around. He even reportedly asked for the Archbishop of Canterbury's help to convince Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to attend the event.

However, his eldest son, Prince William, was reportedly not on board with his plans. The Prince of Wales endured several attacks from his younger brother in his docuseries, memoir and previous interviews while promoting Spare.

Dr. Gavin Ashenden, a British Catholic layman, author and commentator, who was also appointed as Chaplain to the Queen from 2008 until his resignation in 2017, supported Prince William. For him, Prince William's brother can't be trusted.
