Kevin Feige Confirms Marvel Phase 5 Will Feature More Mutants Like Namor and Ms. Marvel

Marvel has been inviting more mutants as the cinematic universe continues to expand. It began with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, who was revealed to be not only ⅛ Jinn but also bears ‘mutated genes’ in the season finale. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law definitely had more mutant appearances such as El Aguila (Joseph Castillo-Midyett) and Man-Bull (Nathan Hurd). But most recently, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

With the number of mutants increasing as time goes by in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige has yet again addressed the possibility of X-Men joining the MCU soon. In an attempt to avoid answering the question, Feige jokingly said, “It’s really loud in here,” on Hyper Omelette (via Comicbook.com) while previewing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

With Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, the film has also been reportedly confirmed to be canon in the MCU. while it is clear that mutants and possibly the chances of X-Men also joining the MCU, there is still the need to wait for official announcements from Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios themselves. But the Marvel Studios boss reassures:

“We’ve already met a few, there’s one named Namor that you might’ve met recently. So, more to come, yes!”

Adding more mutants to the canonical world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge step forward, especially with Phase Five set to open with even bigger crossovers such as The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Quantumania, Thunderbolts, and many more.
