Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton are very close. During a 2014 interview, Pippa said that she and her older sister are tight. She also said that they support each other and get how each other thinks about important issues.
In the book Kate: The Future Queen, royal author Katie Nicholl said that the Middletons are an exceptionally close family. Growing up, their household was reportedly filled with so much laughter and noise.
Kate Middleton Secretly Despises Pippa Middleton
Life & Style, in its Jan. 10 issue, claimed that Kate and Pippa’s close relationship is just for the cameras because behind closed doors they are always competing with each other.
An unnamed source said that Kate has always been jealous of Pippa’s life because she gets the benefits afforded to the members of the royal family without having to do the hard job for them.
“Kate and Pippa’s relationship has turned frosty. It irritates Kate that Pippa continues to enjoy the perks of being related to the royals – like invites to swanky events and brand endorsements – without any type of responsibilities. Kate does all the hard work while Pippa lives in a perfect, carefree world. Kate can’t help feeling a little nervous,” the unnamed source said.
Kate Middleton Snapped At Pippa Middleton
Tensions between the siblings were allegedly already rife in September around the time that their younger brother tied the knot. The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly left James’ wedding right after the ceremony because of her royal duties.
“She was exhausted and snapped at her sister, which is very unlike her, but seeing Pippa so happy and relaxed triggered something. Pippa doesn’t mince words and basically told Kate to get over herself. Afterward, they ghosted each other for weeks,” the unnamed source claimed.
Prince William Urged Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton To Reconcile
When Prince William found out about the siblings’ confrontation, he allegedly decided to act as the middle man to try and help them resolve their issues.
“He likes Pippa and urged Kate to make amends. He suggested she invite her sister to the carol service as an olive branch. Pippa appreciated the gesture and the evening went well. While the sisters aren’t as close as they once were, they’re now on better terms and are working through their issues,” the unnamed source concluded.

Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton Are Very Close
However, the publication’s claims couldn’t be farther from the truth. The sisters’ former coach previously revealed that Kate and Pippa are competitive. However, they do not compete against each other.
“They had such drive and were very competitive, particularly Pippa. They were very much a team,” the coach said.
The Middletons are so close to the point that they served as maid of honor at each other’s weddings.
In 2014, Pippa also gushed over her sister during her interview on Today.
“We spend a lot of time together. We still do a lot together as a family. I think that's really the heart for all of us is having a really close family that we can sort of being normal with each other, treat each other normally. And that’s sort of kept us all, you know, affixed to the ground,” she said.
