Kate Middleton has a very busy schedule. Not only does she support Prince William and the royal family on a daily basis but she’s also a hands-on mom to her three children. Even though the Duchess of Cambridge is married to the future king of Britain, she’s just like any other moms at home.

Kate Middleton Open About Her Struggles With Motherhood

In the documentary Kate: Our Queen in Waiting, royal reporter Victoria Murphy shared how Kate Middleton took a risk by sharing her personal struggles with raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“When you hear Kate give a podcast interview and they touch on areas such as mum guilt, it was a bit of a risk that there may be a backlash. People may say actually how can you relate to the struggles of ordinary people,” Murphy said.

The royal editor added that things must have worked well for Middleton in the end because she was so relatable. So, even if "mom guilt" was real, moms around the world still looked up to Prince William’s wife.

Kate Middleton Admitted To Feeling Guilty As A Mom

Two years ago, Middleton appeared on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast where she called herself a hands-on mom. She also said that just like the other moms out there, she also sees to it that she’s doing the best that she can for her children.

But regardless of what she does for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Middleton said that she knows that other people would always have something negative to say. And even if she’s a royal, she’s not free from experiencing the so-called “mom guilt.”

“It’s a constant challenge, you hear it time and time again from mums. And always sort of questioning your own decisions, and your own judgments, and things like that, and I think that starts from the moment you have a baby,” Middleton said.

The Duchess of Cambridge also acknowledged that some mothers had it worse than her, especially during their pregnancies. But Middleton didn’t also shy away from admitting that she wasn’t the happiest while carrying her kids in her womb. After all, she suffered from extreme morning sickness or hyperemesis gravidarum.

“Lots of people have it far, far worse, but it was definitely a challenge,” she said.

Kate Middleton Turned To Hypnobirthing For Help

Luckily for Middleton, she heard about hypnobirthing and decided to try it for herself.

“I saw the power of it really, the meditation and the deep breathing and things like that, that they teach you in hypnobirthing when I was really sick, and actually I realized that this was something I could take control of, I suppose, during labor. It was hugely powerful,” Middleton said.

Today, Middleton still serves as a hands-on mom to her three children. Every now and then, she steps out in public with her eldest son, Prince George. And before she and Prince William returned to their in-person royal engagements, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent so much time with their kids at home.
