Kate Middleton is the future queen consort. Since she’s married to Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge represents the royal family on behalf of Queen Elizabeth just like her husband.
But while Middleton enjoys several perks for being a member of the royal family, one thing that she doesn’t have is the freedom to talk about anything that she wants.
Unlike her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, Middleton cannot also make television appearances or sit down for interviews that are outside of her royal duties. There is no indication that Middleton wants to lead a more normal life, but there are claims that she wants to be just like Prince Harry’s wife.
Kate Middleton Wants To Know Everything About Meghan Markle
Star, in its Nov. 29 issue, claimed that Middleton is envious of Markle. The Duchess of Cambridge didn’t, allegedly, think that she would be jealous of her sister-in-law after Markle quit The Firm last year.
“Meghan is still connected to the royal family, but unlike Kate, she has the freedom to do whatever she wants. Kate is so envious of Meghan’s new life – to the point of obsession,” an unnamed source claimed.
Prince William’s wife also, allegedly, wants to know what Markle is up that’s why she regularly trolls the Suits alum online.
Kate Middleton Jealous Of Meghan Markle’s Relationship With Queen Elizabeth
Prior to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s so-called Megxit, Middleton tried to establish a close relationship with Markle. However, this didn’t materialize because the future queen consort once again because jealous of Markle’s close bond with Queen Elizabeth.
Before Markle joined the royal family, Middleton felt that the queen adored her the most. But this changed shortly after Prince Harry wed Markle.
“She didn’t like that Meghan was moving in on her turf. At the end of the day, Kate and Meghan are both strong, domineering women who were fighting to achieve the same goal: to win over the queen and the public,” the unnamed source claimed.
Meghan Markle Has More Freedom Than Her Sister-In-Law
According to the source, Middleton continues to faithfully perform her royal duties, but there are some things that she would never be able to do because of her ties to the British clan.
For instance, Middleton cannot sit down for an interview with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and talk about her personal struggles just like what Prince Harry and Markle did earlier this year.
The Duchess of Cambridge also needs to stay neutral when it comes to politics, but Markle can lobby for paid parental leave. The Duchess of Sussex can also run for office in the future.
“Kate studied politics at school and always enjoyed a good debate until she married into the royal family. Being forced to remain silent on issues – and watching Meghan speak out – definitely winds her up,” the unnamed source said.
Prince William’s wife cannot also sign deals with streaming platforms or make more money than what she’s getting now unlike the Sussexes.
According to the source, Middleton has been complaining about all the perks that Prince Harry and Markle have been getting since they quit The Firm. And this, allegedly, shows that she’s bitter.
“Kate abides by the rules and is always so polite in public, so people see her as a ‘yes’ person. But underneath the surface, there’s a side to her that just desperately wants to be in control,” the unnamed source concluded.

Kate Middleton Adored By Royal Fans
Earlier this year, royal author Andrew Morton spoke on the Royally Obsessed podcast and said that Middleton was not prepared for royal life when she married Prince William in 2011. In fact, no one can ever prepare themselves for the intensity of being a member of the royal family.
Morton made these comments following Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she said that she didn’t receive training when she joined the royal family.
“During the interview, she said, 'Nobody told me about the national anthem.' Quite frankly, they don't tell you. It's not like there's a school for princesses where you sit there and go through the procedures from A to Z. You learn it at the knee. You learn it from experience. Even Catherine Middleton, the point I'd make about her is that yes, she had the support of her family, and yes, she was British and knew what was expected, but nobody can prepare you for the level of intensity and the level of interest in you,” Morton said.
Royal expert Marlene Koenig also said that the public’s perception of Middleton changed over the years. Now that she’s doing everything correctly, royal fans have fallen in love with her.
Even though Middleton doesn’t have the same freedom that Markle has right now, there’s no comparing the sisters-in-law to each other because their fates are different.
The Duchess of Cambridge also has perks that Markle must have wanted for herself. For instance, Prince Harry’s wife previously said that she wanted the royal family to protect her against the British tabloid, but they didn’t.
As the future queen consort, the royal family and Prince William stood by Middleton’s side after her nude photos made the covers of tabloids.
