Kate Middleton is usually excited about her birthday, but the same cannot be said this time around.
The Duchess of Cambridge will turn 40 on Jan. 9, and she will most likely have a low-key celebration. However, it’s also possible for Prince William to plan something special for his wife.
Prince William Has Exciting Plans For Kate Middleton’s Birthday
New Idea, in its Jan. 3 issue, claimed that Prince William is doing exactly that. He’s excited for Middleton to turn 40 that’s why he has all these fun ideas on what they can do with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louise.
An unnamed source said that the Duke of Cambridge planned a trip to New York with his wife and children.
“Wills was so excited to tell Kate about it. He got all these ideas for family-friendly activities, like museums and ice-skating during the day, and romantic parties for two in the hotel bar once the kids are tucked up in bed,” the unnamed source said.

Kate Middleton Anxious Over Her Birthday Trip To New York
But when Prince William told Middleton his plans, he was surprised with his wife’s reaction. The Duchess of Cambridge allegedly expressed that the thought of traveling to New York is already making her feel stressed.
“Kate’s reaction was one of anxiety. Her concern is that she’ll run into her sister-in-law’s cronies,” the unnamed source said.
Since Prince William booked a room at the Carlyle Hotel, Middleton believes that there’s a possibility that she would cross paths with Meghan Markle’s close friends like Jessica Mulroney and Misha Nonoo.
“Kate feels like she’s in boarding school again, worrying if Meghan’s friends will be watching her in the common room – or in this case, in the lobby. Plus, there’s always the chance that Meghan and Harry themselves would show up on a work trip like they’ve done twice in the past few months, which would totally ruin things. She feels silly being so paranoid, but the past year of Meghan’s strange attacks on her has taken its toll. Will is a tad miffed. He wants to make it such a special trip,” the unnamed source said.
Various rumors and speculations have been surrounding Middleton’s birthday.
Kate Middleton Spending $1 Million On Her 40th Birthday
Earlier this week, OK! magazine claimed that Prince William and Middleton will travel to the United States to celebrate the latter’s 40th birthday. They will, allegedly, go to different tourist sites while in New York, and the royal couple couldn’t be more excited about their trip. After all, it’s been years since the Cambridges last visited the United States.
The same publication also claimed that Middleton will celebrate her birthday back in the United Kingdom. But an unnamed source said that she’s going all-out with her celebration.
In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge allegedly received Queen Elizabeth’s blessing to spend $1 million on her birthday party. The monarch also gave her the go signal to invite between 175 to 200 friends.

Prince William Canceled His Plans For Kate Middleton’s Birthday
But according to royal pundit Neil Sean, Prince William was forced to cancel his birthday surprise for Middleton because the latter doesn’t want a big celebration.
“According to good sources, the problem that Catherine has is that Prince William wanted to organize a big bash. The bigger problem is this, it's two-fold. Prince William had planned the initial stages of a big party, coming up next year, but the problem of ongoing measures, lockdowns, it's very difficult to organize anything,” Sean said via Express.
