Kate Middleton Worried About Her Children’s Safety After 170 Stalkers Were Confirmed

While speaking with OK! magazine UK, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe revealed that the royal family was tormented by 170 stalkers in 2021 alone. Even though the royal family’s security aides have vowed to take charge of the situation, Larcombe still believes that Prince William and Kate Middleton are worried not only for themselves but also for their three children.

“Kate's children's protection is a constant worry for her but she just has to have faith that they have these expert police officers. Over the years they have altered and upped the security. After the 7/7 bombings in London, the number of protection officers looking after William almost doubled so they do monitor the threat constantly,” he said.

Larcombe also acknowledged the fact that the royal family takes security breaches very seriously and recounted an incident during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal tour.

“They take these sort of things very seriously. I remember an incident when William and Kate were on a tour and the protection officers were concerned that there was a guy there who wasn't part of the press pack. They are very quick to keep an eye and they do have a ring of protection. There is a lot of protection that goes unseen and it’s not just the bodyguards walking them down the street. It just shows that the royals are vulnerable to all sorts so they have to be vigilant,” Larcombe said.

Kate Middleton’s Security Fears Support Prince Harry’s Concerns

But the royal commentator also said that the royal family’s issue with security could help support Prince Harry’s pleas. The dad of two previously filed a complaint against Home Security after they refused to give him security while he was in the United Kingdom.

The Duke of Sussex said that he was worried for his safety and the safety of his entire family. And he also vowed to never return to Britain until the issue is resolved.

“This will do Harry no end of good to be able to demonstrate the need for security. These numbers will be based on police intelligence, they’re not just plucked out from the sky. They do re-enforce the fact that Harry is a target whether he’s part of the royal family or not and so are his children. Harry is a particular target as well because he’s served in Afghanistan because of his military links,” Larcombe said.

The Mirror UK cited figures from the Fixated Threat Assessment Center just one month before Middleton was scheduled to give birth to her second child.

Dai Davies, a retired Metropolitan Police official, said that it’s not unusual for security issues to rise ahead of an important event. A similar situation took place ahead of Prince William and Middleton’s royal wedding in 2011.

“Prevention is one of the key areas. Because in about 70 percent of cases where there have been attacks, the fixated person has indicated before the incident that they are going to do something,” Davies said.
