Kate Middleton has a protective family. King Charles and Prince William were reportedly furious after learning about Donald Trump's comments on her 2012 topless photo scandal.

King Charles And Prince William Furious Over Trump's Comment On Kate Middleton's Photo Scandal, Book Claims

Royal biographer Christopher Andersen is writing a new book titled The King: The Life of Charles III. In his new tome, he recounted how Donald Trump's apparent dig at the Princess of Wales' nude pictures made the senior royals feel — in particular, her husband, Prince William, and father-in-law, King Charles.

The king and heir to the throne exploded into "torrents of profanity" after Trump tweeted about Middleton's topless photo, the book claimed.

"Trump's criticism of Kate resulted in what one Clarence House butler referred to as 'torrents of profanity' from both Prince Charles and his sons," an extract of the book obtained by Newsweek read.

King Charles also allegedly branded Trump "detached from reality" and even checked with his American friends if he could be impeached.

What Did Donald Trump Say And Tweet About Kate Middleton And Her Photo Scandal?

The former president of the United States shared his thoughts about Middleton's photo scandal. In his viewpoint, there is no one to blame but Prince William's wife.

"Kate Middleton is great--but she shouldn't be sunbathing in the nude--only herself to blame. Who wouldn't take Kate's picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!" Trump tweeted.

The ex-POTUS also talked about the same issue when he appeared on Fox and Friends. He doubled down on blaming the Duchess of Cambridge for the controversy.

"While we're all fans of Kate, can you imagine why she would ever be out in the nude? he said, Mirror reported. "Why would she be standing in the nude in a swimming pool or wherever she was. She's Kate. It's terrible what they did, it's terrible to take pictures, but boy, how can you do a thing so stupid?"

What's The Story Behind The Controversial Topless Photos Of Kate Middleton?

The photos in question were taken in 2012 during the Prince and Princess of Wales' vacation. She was sunbathing topless on private property in France.

A photographer zoomed his camera to capture Prince William and Middleton's moment in the villa and sold the pictures to a tabloid. The photos were published and made headlines around the world.

St. James's Palace released a statement condemning the decision to publish Middleton's snaps, calling it grotesque.

"The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of [Princess Diana], and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so," the statement read.

Prince William and Middleton sued the magazine and were awarded 120,000 in damages in 2017. The French court ruled that the image breached the couple's privacy, and all six defendants in the trial were convicted of charges related to the pictures.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased that the court has found in their favor and the matter is now closed," a Kensington Palace spokesperson said in a statement after the verdict. "This incident was a serious breach of privacy, and Their Royal Highnesses felt it essential to pursue all legal remedies. They wished to make the point strongly that this kind of unjustified intrusion should not happen."
