Jurassic World: Dominion promises to be an epic dinosaur-filled action-adventure, while also bringing back several characters that span the first five films in the series. But as this sequel promises to be "the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era", is it possible that any one or more of those characters will be killed off? After all, this is usually how finales tend to go...

Returning Jurassic World characters are Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), and Henry Wu (BD Wong), while the returning Jurassic Park characters are Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), and Lewis Dodgson (this time played by Campbell Scott).

While there are other Jurassic World characters returning to the fold, such as Zia (Daniella Pineta) and Barry (Omar Sy), we'll stick to all the main ones we just listed, because, needless to say, they're the ones we're going to be worried about the most! Now, let's do a quick headcount and see who might be the most vulnerable...

Will Alan Grant Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

The thought of seeing Dr. Alan Grant back in a Jurassic Park movie is a thrilling one. While the official Jurassic World: Dominion trailer teases only a couple of scenes, director Colin Trevorrow has long since confirmed that Grant will have a major role in the movie.

But the question is, will he be safe now that dinosaurs are roaming around on the mainland? In our opinion, yes! If there's one character who the filmmakers would be extremely unwise to kill off, it would be this fan-favorite and hero of the original film.

Will Maisie Lockwood Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

Maisie Lockwood is the first child in the Jurassic Park series to be returning for a new installment (although Lex and Tim Murphy did get a cameo in The Lost World: Jurassic Park). And it looks like Maisie's role in Jurassic World: Dominion will be even bigger.

Whether or not the world is aware that Maisie is responsible for releasing dinosaurs into the wild remains to be seen, but it's clear she'll be harboring some guilt in the new movie. But as she's still a child, we think (and hope) she's safe - after all, this is a Jurassic Park movie!

Will Ellie Sattler Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

Dr. Ellie Sattler is also returning to the fold, alongside her own partner-in-paleontology, Alan Grant. Like Grant, Sattler has only ever appeared in both the original 1993 film and the 2001 sequel, Jurassic Park III. Now, she'll be a major character in Jurassic World: Dominion.

But could Ellie Sattler be killed off in the new movie? We've finally arrived a character whose fate we really can't predict. Both Ellie and Alan are undoubtedly close friends, and with friendships comes sacrifices - especially in finale movies! Let's hope Sattler stays safe.

Will Owen Grady Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

If there's anyone who knows what they're doing in a Jurassic World movie, it's the character of Owen Grady. The animal behaviorist has spent several years training velociraptors at Jurassic World and has experienced other up-close-and-personal-prehistoric encounters.

But does this mean that he's safe in Jurassic World: Dominion? Characters who tend to meet their maker in such movies are usually the heroes (we're still thinking of you, Tony Stark), so it's a huge possibility that Owen Grady's luck will finally run out. But we hope not.

Will Ian Malcolm Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

Jurassic World: Dominion marks Dr. Ian Malcolm's fourth Jurassic movie, having appeared in Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (even if they are fleeting cameos in that film). And now, he'll be a major character in Dominion.

Can we imagine the beloved Ian Malcolm being killed off in the upcoming sequel? Absolutely not. Malcolm is there to warn his fellow characters about the consequences of meddling with nature. As such, killing him off just wouldn't make any sense.

Will Claire Dearing Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

Now, this is where we start to get a pretty bad feeling about a major character. Director Colin Trevorrow offered some insight into where Claire Dearing is at the time of Jurassic World: Dominion, hinting that she's busy trying to protect loved ones.

What this means is unclear, but it's possible he's referring to Maisie Lockwood, who is likely on the run because of her invaluable genetic property. Will Claire die protecting her? Well, the trailer sure does show her in more than one sticky situation with dinosaurs...

Will Henry Wu Die in Jurassic World: Dominion?

Absolutely. Straight off the bat, yes, we think Henry Wu will definitely die in Jurassic World: Dominion! But why are we so sure? Well, Wu was one of three villains in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and in Jurassic World, he was well on his way.

After all, in the 2015 film, he reminds us that "all of this exists because of me." Well, history isn't kind to those who play God, and this couldn't be more true than in the case of a Jurassic Park movie. In fact, it's fair to say that, as a villain, Wu is living on borrowed time!
