Jurassic World: Dominion is the Final Film in the Franchise According to Chris Pratt

There is a lot of excitement right now for Jurassic World: Dominion as it will feature a crossover between two generations of the franchise: the original Jurassic Park cast and today's Jurassic World main cast. There are a lot of questions right now regarding its future after the upcoming film and whether they will still continue or not. Now, it looks like we have the definitive answer from one of its stars.

During his recent appearance on The Today Show, Chris Pratt, who plays Owen Grady in the Jurassic franchise, revealed that Dominion is indeed going to be the last film in the franchise and also shared his thoughts about the way they decided to end with the upcoming film.

"You know you go to like a fireworks display, like 4th of July or New Year's and there’s always the finale, you’re like waiting for it and then BOOM you’re like oh, this is it! This is the finale!," Pratt said. "I feel like the whole movie is that, it’s like 30 years in the making, this is the sixth Jurassic film and it’s the end of this franchise."

He added, "I really do think it’s the end. You’ve got the legacy cast back, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, plus the cast of Jurassic World all converged, our storylines converging in a way that is very much a finale."

Given how the upcoming film will have a similar feel as Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's not surprising to hear that Dominion will be the last film in the franchise since it does feel like a culmination of the entire franchise as the upcoming film will deal with the dinosaurs roaming free around the planet, something that the first film was trying to warn and avoid.

Of course, the question now is will they end the franchise on a satisfying note? We will never know until we watch the film next month. Hopefully, it's going to be a great conclusion to the franchise that has been beloved by fans for decades and, based on the trailers, it looks like it's also going to be the most epic one yet.

The film's logline reads: "Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures."
