Jurassic World: Dominion sees the return of Jurassic World characters Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), and Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong).

However, it also brings back Dr. Ellie Sattler (Ellie Dern), Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), and Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) from the original Jurassic Park Trilogy, who must join forces with Claire, Owen, Maisie, and Wu.

Jurassic World: Dominion is described as the "epic culmination to the entire series" and the "end to the Jurassic era". As per the official Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment website, here’s the synopsis for the film:

Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live -- and hunt -- alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.

Jurassic World: Dominion takes place four years after the world-changing events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), in which dinosaurs are released into the North American wilderness.

Now, dinosaurs are flourishing all over the country and beyond. Claire Dearing works for the Dinosaur Protection Group, and lives with Owen Grady in a remote cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

There, they care for Maisie Lockwood, the cloned granddaughter of Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). Blue, the velociraptor Owen trained in Jurassic World, lives in the woods nearby with her offspring which Maisie names Beta.

A YouTuber reports that bioengineering company Biosyn Genetics has been given exclusive collection rights on the free-roaming dinosaurs, and as such, is capturing as many as possible for its facility in Italy's Dolomites mountains.

Meanwhile, a swarm of large locusts has been feeding on all non-Biosyn crops, leading Dr. Ellie Sattler to suspect that the company is trying to monopolize the world's food supply, so she hires Dr. Alan Grant to help her investigate Biosyn.

Frustrated with not being able to leave the cabin due to being highly sought after, Maisie sneaks out but, along with Beta, is kidnapped by a group of people working for Biosyn, who take her to Biosyn.

Claire and Owen follow Maisie's trail to Malta, while Sattler and Grant, who learn that Dr. Ian Malcolm now works at Biosyn, secure an invite to their facility in the Dolomites, where they're greeted by Ramsay Cole (Mamoudou Athie).

In the city, Claire and Owen discover a dinosaur black market, where several super predators are inadvertently released onto the streets. With help from pilot Kayla Watts (DeWanda Wise), the pair escape Malta and make for Biosyn.

At Biosyn, Alan and Ellie meets Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), the head of Biosyn, who explains that the dinosaurs will allow Biosyn to conduct research and hopefully discover the cure to many diseases that afflict mankind.

Ramsay and Malcolm help Alan and Ellie to infiltrate the facility's laboratories and retrieve a sample of the locusts' DNA to prove that Biosyn is responsible for the food supply conspiracy.

We also learn that Dr. Henry Wu works for Biosyn, and has created the locust swarm to help Biosyn control the agricultural market, however, he is guilt-stricken by what he has created, and hopes to right his wrong.

Wu explains to Maisie that she is a not a clone, that Charlotte Lockwood (Isabella Sermon/Elva Trill), used her own DNA to reproduce asexually, but altered Maisie's DNA to protect her from a disease that ultimately led to her own death.

Wu is confident that Maisie's and Beta's DNA are the answer to creating a pathogen to stop the locust outbreak.

Realizing that their pilot Kayla is carrying non-permitted passengers, Biosyn disable the Aerial Deterrent System, allowing a flock of Quetzalcoatlus to attack the plane, forcing Claire to emergency-eject and land in the jungle below.

There, she's pursued by a large Therizinosaurus, but manages to hide in a swamp. Meanwhile, Owen and Kayla, who have crashed into an icy lake, must battle a Pyroraptor, however, they soon regroup with Claire in the jungle, after saving her from Dilophosaurs.

After Alan and Ellie secure a DNA sample from the locusts, they encounter Maisie, who has tried to escape with Beta but has become separated. The three use the facility's Hyperloop train and wind up in old amber mines.

After discovering that his plan has been compromised, Dodgson sets fire to the locusts, while Malcolm tells Dodgson's employees that the dinosaurs have been nothing more than a means of distracting them from Biosyn's nefarious work.

Having escaped Dimetrodons in the amber mines, Alan, Ellie, Maisie, and Malcolm wind up meeting Owen, Claire, and Kayla in the jungle, however, they're soon attacked by the apex predator, Giganotosaurus.

All around them, the escaped locusts, which have breached the laboratories, are setting fire to the entire jungle. Biosyn uses their dinosaur-control system to lure all the dinosaurs towards the facility.

The Giga attacks them, but they hide in a communications tower, and using the Hyperloop tunnel, they manage to escape. Owen, Alan, and Maisie capture Beta, while Ellie and Claire restore the ADS so they can escape by chopper.

Elsewhere on the Hyperloop, Dodgson makes an attempt at escaping, but not without his insurance - the Barbasol shaving cream canister he once gave to Dennis Nedry, which presumably still holds 15 viable dinosaur embryos inside.

But Dodgson soon encounters the pack of Dilophosaurs, and meets the same sticky fate as Dennis Nedry. Outside on the helicopter landing pad, an epic battle ensues between the Giga, Rexy, and the Therizinosaur.

As the team escapes, Rexy and the Therizinosaur kill the Giga. In a closing montage, the YouTube narrator explains that Wu has managed to destroy the locust horde, as we watch him release the pathogen into a crop field.

Alan and Ellie rekindle their romantic relationship, and join Malcolm and Ramsay in Washington DC to testify against Biosyn. Owen, Claire, and Maisie go home to their mountain cabin and return Beta to a grateful Blue.

Before the film ends, after learning that Biosyn Valley has been declared a dinosaur sanctuary by the United Nations, we see several species of dinosaurs adapting to co-exist alongside modern-day animals.
