Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20 is coming this August and the tankobon's cover has just been revealed. Not surprisingly, it puts the focus on Ryu Ishigori striking what appears to be a "JoJo pose" made popular by the characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure!
The cover for Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20 was unveiled by the official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account. The cover, which was illustrated by Gege Akutami, features Ryu Ishigori with his trademark pompadour and fur-lined jacket posing with his hands in his hair. Check it out below.
It's no surprise that Ryu Ishigori has been chosen to be on the cover of Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20. After all, he played a major role in the Sendai Colony arc and the upcoming tankobon will be compiling most of the chapters he appeared in. However, there's another reason why fans can't stop talking about the cover.
Not surprisingly, people are comparing Ryu Ishigori to Chrollo because Ryu's jacket resembles the one worn by the villain in Hunter x Hunter. In addition to that, some are saying that the pose and pompadour combined makes Ryu look even more like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable protagonist Josuke Higashikata.
These are all awesome comparisons considering that Chrollo and Josuke Higashikata are notable figures in the anime world. However, we are also looking forward to the day when Ryu Ishigori will be known as one of the coolest characters in anime as well.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20 will consist of nine chapters starting with Tokyo No.1 Colony, Part 12 and ending with Sendai Colony, Part 7. In these chapters, Ryu Ishigori goes head to head with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 protagonist Yuta Okkotsu who is also a player in the Culling Game.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20 will be released on August 4, 2020.
