Jonathan Frakes Teases New Star Trek Shows in Development

There is little doubt that Trekkies are already satisfied with the new CBS All Access shows so far. However, it looks like there are already new Star Trek shows in development. Jonathan Frakes has just teased on these new shows following Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek Discovery. In addition to that, Frakes could once again be involved with a new series.

Frakes recently took part in a live chat with GalaxyCon where he admitted that he was delighted to be a part of Picard and Discovery.

"It has been a blessing to have my career to be rekindled by the new Star Treks," Frakes said. "It didn't hurt that I learned how to do another craft."

Interestingly, Frakes went on by stating that he was happy with how fans reacted to the current shows before somehow confirming that there are new shows on the horizon.

"The directing has been fantastic for me. When Discovery worked out and then Picard worked out and now there will be a new one, and another one," he said.

Frakes had previously directed episodes for Discovery before working on Picard where he also reprised his role as Will Riker. For now, it doesn't look like he'll be playing Riker again in the new shows but it sounds like he could be involved in directing some episodes. On the other hand, this has not yet been confirmed so it would be best to take this with a grain of salt.

What do you think will the new Star Trek shows be about? Sound off in the comments below.
