Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's legal battle did not end in London, where the Pirates of the Caribbean star lost his case against a U.K. tabloid calling him wife-beater. The exes continue their court battle in Virginia, where Depp is suing Heard for defamation. Amid Depp and Heard's legal battle, a new documentary titled Johnny vs. Amber will be airing in Discovery+.

Discovery+ announced on Nov. 19 its upcoming documentary titled Johnny vs. Amber. The show will show never-heard details about their short-lived relationship, which began in 2015 and lasted in 2017.

It would begin in 2016 when the Aquaman star filed for divorce. It will also feature Heard securing a restraining order against the Fantastic Beast actor against Depp for allegedly being violent and abusive.

Things between the exes got worse after Depp sued The Sun for calling him wife-beater in its report. The network said in a statement that the documentary would evaluate what initiated the demise of their marriage and "how it tipped into the celebrity court case of the decade."

"Johnny's film will portray that he found himself married to a Machiavellian liar who would stop at nothing to protect her image," the statement said per E! News. "While Amber's film explores how she married the man of her dreams only to see him turn into a violent drug-fueled monster."

"Through the tapes, home videos and text messages shown in court, these films give viewers a rare and important insight into a marriage that went tragically wrong, and to better understand the hugely important issue of domestic violence," said Nick Hornby, Co-CEO at Optomen, the company producing the documentary.

The documentary aims to help the viewers understand the feud between the two and will feature the lawyers involved in both sides along with the testimonies close to the pair.

In addition, it will provide "an in-depth insight into the epic battle that powered #JusticeforJohnnyDepp and #IStandWithYouAmberHeard fan campaigns and the very public High Court case that gripped us all. Optomen has done a fantastic job turning this multi-layered story into something both engrossing and horrifying," said Clare Laycock, head of entertainment at Discovery UK.

Johnny Depp And Amber Heard's Reaction To Johnny Vs. Amber Documentary

Neither Johnny Depp nor Amber Heard has commented on the upcoming series since it was announced.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users expressed concern over the integrity of the upcoming documentary.

"Wait Discovery owns WB and Amber is working on Aquaman, which is a WB product... This might be a biased documentary," one tweeted.

"Damn right it will be. WB & Murdoch are behind it. WB wants to justify firing Depp & retaining Heard. Murdoch wants to shore up a libel verdict that looks more unsound with every piece of new evidence that drops. Plus, it prejudices the US case imho," another added.

The two-part docuseries Johnny vs. Amber will premiere on Discover+. However, no official release date has been announced as of yet, Us Weekly reported.
