Jim Carrey is Willing to do a Sonic the Hedgehog Sequel

After a disastrous first trailer, it looks like things have turned around for Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog movie, mostly due to the character's awesome redesign. Fans are hoping that this will be a quality video game movie, much like Pokemon: Detective Pikachu was, despite the movie's flaws. It seems like the actors had a good time making the movie, including Jim Carrey, who is apparently pretty game to make a sequel.

During an interview with Jake Hamilton, Carrey said he had a good time playing as Robotnik, though he struggled to convey to other people that his character had a triple-digit IQ. Obviously, that's a joke but it's good to see Carrey still having fun with roles like these, especially since the actor rarely stars in movies these days.

Here's what Carrey told Hamilton:

"I wouldn't mind going to do another one because it was so much fun, first of all, and a real challenge to try to convince people that I have a triple-digit IQ... There is so much room, you know, Robotnik has not reached his apotheosis."

Fans are hoping Sonic the Hedgehog is good, mostly so that there can be a sequel with even more characters from the franchise. We're actually pretty shocked to not see Tails or Knuckles confirmed yet so we'll probably see them in a follow-up unless there's something in the film that we don't know about.

Sonic the Hedgehog will be showing in theaters on February 14.
