Jerry Bruckheimer Hints at Johnny Depp's Return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean

Johnny Depp might be returning to Pirates of the Caribbean. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer may have suggested that Disney is considering bringing back Jack Sparrow to the franchise.

Back in 2018, there were several reports of Johnny Depp being removed from the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. The reports came after Depp suffered from major backlash during his widely publicized divorce from ex-wife Amber Heard. Since then, Depp had stated that he has no interest in returning to the franchise or working with Disney.

But is it possible that Disney has reconsidered the decision to remove Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean? Jerry Bruckheimer, who has served as the producer of the franchise's movies, recently spoke about plans for Pirates of the Caribbean.

When asked if there was any chance that Johnny Depp will return to the franchise, Bruckheimer told The Times, "Not at this point." He then added that "The future is yet to be decided."

Fans were quick to point out that Jerry Bruckheimer's choice of words was interesting since he could have simply said no when asked. However, his statement suggested that the franchise is still considering Jack Sparrow's return.

Interestingly, Bruckheimer had confirmed that there are two Pirates of the Caribbean scripts that are currently being developed. Bruckheimer also revealed that one of the scripts was for the film featuring Margot Robbie while the other one would not star the Suicide Squad actress. This has led to speculations that the second one could be a project that would bring back Johnny Depp.

For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow in a new Pirates of the Caribbean project. In the meantime, Depp's defamation trial against Amber Heard continues with Heard taking the stand again this week.
