But in 2016, a source told Us Weekly that Jennifer Aniston was not surprised to learn that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to part ways. In fact, when the Friends star first heard the news, she reportedly called it "karma."
The source also claimed that Aniston always knew that Pitt and Jolie's marriage wasn't for keeps because they were so different.
"She always got the sense that something would happen to them eventually. She didn't feel that Angelina was truly the one who Brad was meant to stay with. She always felt that Angelina was too complex for him. He's a pretty simple guy," the source said.

Jennifer Aniston Did Not Wish For Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie's Marriage To Fall Apart
The insider added that Aniston felt somehow satisfied after Pitt and Jolie broke up. However, this doesn't mean that The Morning Show actress wished that Pitt and Jolie would go their separate ways.
"Jen does wish Brad luck and the best. She feels like she's happy, and she wants him to be happy too. Jen does not hold on to any negativity from her marriage to Brad," the source said.
Did Brad Pitt Cheat On Jennifer Aniston With Angelina Jolie?
Now, the report from six years ago is once again making headlines because just weeks ago, there were claims that Aniston was right all along. The actress reportedly thought that Pitt cheated on her with Jolie even if the dad of six initially denied it.
A source previously claimed that Jolie tipped the paparazzi on where she and Pitt were at the start of their relationship in 2005. At the time, Jolie, Pitt, and their eldest son, Maddox, were at the beach.
Insiders then looked at the timeline of when the photo was taken and learned that Pitt and Aniston's divorce hadn't been finalized when the Ad Astra actor and Jolie started hanging out.
Pitt and Jolie first crossed paths after they were cast in Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004. During her interview with Vogue, the Maleficent star revealed that she fell in love with Pitt while they were filming.
"Because of the film we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, 'God, I can't wait to get to work," she said.
Aniston and Pitt shippers would know that the exes only split in 2005. This suggests that Jolie has already started developing feelings for Pitt while he was still with Aniston. However, it's unclear when Pitt started to feel the same way about Jolie.
