Jason Momoa Speaks Out on Fast & Furious Drama

Jason Momoa has had his share when it comes to speaking out on the Hollywood drama, what with being a cast member under DC Studios amid its shake-up, and the negative reception on his Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Now that he’s joined the cast of Fast X, which had its own shake-up history between Vin Diesel and co-star Dwayne Johnson, Momoa speaks out on the Fast & Furious drama.

“I was expecting there to be a lot of — I mean, to be completely honest — drama,” Momoa admitted in an interview on the latest issue of Total Film, “And you’re like, ‘I want nothing to do with this.’ But I saw nothing of the sort.”

On the contrary, in spite of the heated history in the franchise, Momoa instead sheds light on how everyone on the cast had been completely supportive of one another: “It was amazing. Everyone was so supportive. I had a ball with Vin. I was just shocked at how cool everyone was. No one was jaded; everyone was just really, really happy to be there.”

Momoa is no stranger when it comes to dealing with drama on set, especially since he has worked on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom alongside co-star Amber Heard, and to hear that he’s getting along rather well with the Fast & Furious crew with huge stars such as Brie Larson and John Cena, it’s clear that he found no such problem with the team.

Fast X features many newcomers, and Momoa’s big bad role is the newest villain, Dante, and according to movie director Louis Leterrier, Dante is a man who is well aware that Dom (played by Vin Diesel) is better than him, which complicates the situation between the two clashing characters: “Dom truly meets his match with Dante.”

You can watch Jason Momoa in Fast X once it premieres in theaters on May 19. You can check out more updates on the film here.
