Jason Momoa Will Reportedly Join as Aquaman in Wonder Woman 3

During the DC FanDome event last month, it was announced that a third Wonder Woman movie is officially a go with Gal Gadot, Patty Jenkins, and Lynda Carter returning. Little is still known about the plot details, but it is expected to be set during the present day. Now, a new report has suggested that she might be joined by another Justice League member.

According to The Hashtag Show, Jason Momoa is set to appear in Wonder Woman 3 reprising his role of Aquaman. The plot will revolve around Asteria as she finds Diana and recruits her to help find an old ally, Arion, who’s gone insane. Arion is a hero of both Themyscira and Atlantis and bridges the two worlds. However, when he goes insane, he wreaks havoc on Themyscira and has sights for Atlantis. Because of this, Wonder Woman will go to Aquaman to ask for assistance.

The report also indicated that Chris Pine's Steve Trevor will not be making an appearance as he already had some closure in Wonder Woman 1984. However, they pointed out that the script is still in the early writing stages so there's a chance that the information that they reported might change.

We should note that this didn't come from the major trades nor it was officially announced by the studio so we have to take this news with a grain of salt. It is still interesting to hear the possibility that Wonder Woman and Aquaman might team up in the film as the DCEU hasn't really delved much into teaming up their heroes outside Justice League and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

If the information that was reported is true at all, it sounds like it's going to be an epic movie as it will feature two worlds in the DCEU. But then, there's a possibility that the plot details reported might not be the case at all.

The script is still in the early stages of development so it might take time before we get to see more official details about the film. However, given the latest development on Jenkins' Star Wars project, there's a chance that the project will be fast-tracked.
