Jamie Foxx Health Update: Back in Action Star Still in the Hospital Nearly a Week After Medical Emergency

Jamie Foxx is still in the hospital nearly a week after his daughter, Corinne Foxx, announced his hospitalization due to a medical emergency.

A source confirmed that the actor is in Georgia medical facility and is undergoing a series of tests to know what causes his medical complication.

A source told CNN that the 55-year-old is still in the hospital "running tests as the doctors are trying to figure out what exactly happened" following his health scare.

The comedian has been in Atlanta for the filming of his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

The film will also serve as the Charlie's Angels star's return to the big screen.

Though Foxx is currently busy filming, a source told People that he wasn't on set when the medical emergency happened. Hence, he wasn't transported to the hospital by ambulance.

A different source told People that Foxx was "steadily improving" as he's now recovering in the hospital.

Corinne announced her father's health condition on Instagram Wednesday, April 12, saying he had suffered from an unknown "medical complication" on Tuesday, April 11.

However, she didn't reveal what caused her dad's health scare.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she wrote on behalf of her family.

"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," it continued. "The family asks for privacy during this time."

Filming of Jamie Foxx's Back in Action 'Shut Down'

Following Foxx's medical emergency, Back in Action's filming was reportedly "shut down" for a day. The production resumed Thursday, April 13, with a stunt double in his absence.

Another source close to the production told CNN that the filming is "currently underway" and may "wrap up this week."

However, the insider didn't reveal whether Foxx still has scenes to do or if he will be back on set.
