The entire DC Universe fandom was rocked last month after reports circulated online that Superman: Legacy is already in its casting phase. Written and directed by James Gunn, the film is said to chronicle Clark Kent's humble beginnings as a reporter for The Daily Planet.

As it stands, we still don't know which actors will make up the anticipated reboot, with a who's who of stars reportedly vying for the roles of Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor.

However, it looks like Gunn is still undecided about which actor he wants to cast as the new Man of Steel. According to a new report, a new candidate has been added to Superman: Legacy's list of contenders.

Variety reports that 31-year-old actor Pierson Fodé, best known for his role in The Bold and the Beautiful has been added to the list of potential actors who could portray Superman in the new DC Universe.

The trade reached out to Fodé's representatives for a comment but they declined. Interestingly, the actor already has some DC cred under his belt, appearing in one episode of The CW's Supergirl series.

Previously, names like David Corenswet, Tom Brittney, Andrew Richardson, and even X-Men star Nicholas Hoult were all rumored to be in contention for the coveted role but Gunn has yet to confirm nor deny the latest casting reports.

It's always good to have options but if the fans were to decide, most of them are already sold on the idea of Corenswet becoming the next Man of Steel. In fact, long before DC Studios' plans came to light, the fandom has already been campaigning for him to get cast in a Superman project.

Of course, the ball is still on Gunn and Safran's court but if the studio truly wants to put the fans first, they'd at least listen to what they have to say because at the end of the day, it's the audience they want to please more than anyone.

DC Studios' Superman: Legacy is currently eyeing a July 11, 2025 release date.
