James Gunn Slams Marvel Studios' Anti-Spoilers Leak Policy

Spoilers aren't for everyone. Clearly. It ruins the surprise factor for the viewers, especially when it comes to superhero movies being adapted under Marvel Studios. Now that the MCU is expanding, the chances of including more comic book heroes and villains continue to increase. As for how and when those characters arrive, well, that's the main concern the studio has been addressing since they set up a new privacy policy amongst their actors and staff members.

Marvel Studios is no stranger when it comes to signing new NDA deals with new actors, however, James Gunn, who is set to end his trilogy with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, doesn't entirely agree with the new policy. Whilst promoting the threequel on his Twitter, the DC Studios head responded to a fan’s concern on how to avoid spoilers before Vol. 3 arrives, and to that, Gunn said:

“It might be wise to be careful what you’re reading on social networking sites starting at the end of April if you want to avoid spoilers for #[Guardians of the Galaxy]Vol3.,” Gunn wrote, “That said, I don’t think your enjoyment of the film will be diminished much by knowing them.”

It is worth mentioning that Marvel Studios has been keeping things pretty tight nowadays. Beginning with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Evangeline Lilly admitting they had a new tactic on how to deliver the script on their doorstep, along with Captain America: New World Order’s Anthony Mackie on how he checks on his script for the MCU.

Not to mention, the most recent being that the studio is charging subreddit users who potentially spoiled the Ant-Man threequel by rumoredly posting the entire script online ahead of its theatrical release. Gunn’s advice would be pretty wise to take, but knowing how the media works, fans would have to work twice as hard to prevent spoilers on their timelines.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to premiere in theaters on May 5 this year.
