The Controversies Surrounding James Charles
James Charles’ controversy started as soon as he received his big break. When he became CoverGirl’s first male ambassador, he made a tweet that offended many.
“I can’t believe we’re going to Africa today omg what if we get Ebola,” he said, per Film Daily.

His statement resulted in a huge backlash. Though he eventually apologized for his offensive remark, he didn’t do so until he blocked a bunch of Twitters users who called him out.
His scandal with Tati Westbrook back in 2019 also made noise. The two used to be close friends, but Tati Westbrook accused James Charles of endorsing a rival of his gummy vitamin brand.
Also, Tati Westbrook accused him of being a bad role model and sexually manipulating straight men.

Jeffree Star sided with Tati Westbrook and James Charles lost 3 million subscribers. However, the latter cleared his name and aired his side of the story, denying the accusations.
