Spider-Man: No Way Home is such a treat to most fans especially with the arrival of Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Peter Parker in the film and that led fans to speculate whether they would be back for future projects. Will Sam Raimi and Maguire have a reunion in the upcoming Doctor Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness now that the director is taking the helm in the movie?
Is Tobey Maguire in Doctor Strange 2?
Doctor Strange made awesome participation in Spider-Man: No Way Home and he was one of the most pivotal characters in the film. But the ones who stole the show are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their rumored appearance were proved to be true after the multiverse opened and the different variants of Spider-Man were summoned by Ned. (Great skills, kid!)
With Sam Raimi doing the direction for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the rumor-mill started to go around as leaks might have dropped the biggest surprise cameo in the movie: Tobey Maguire. See, the Spider-Man version of Maguire was directed by Sam Raimi, all three of those, and now that they both have positive connections to each other, it’s possible that his MCU appearance might continue.
Now that the multiverse has been opened and explored in various Marvel shows, this wouldn’t be impossible. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man appeared once already; it wouldn’t be a surprise if he would be back as it wouldn’t be a plot-hole anymore. The Multiverse is a perfect excuse to inject any previous versions of other characters in any movie or show.
Other than Maguire, there are also rumors of having the X-Men or the Fantastic Four arrive through Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Aside from the aforementioned, other existing characters in the MCU may also be back such as White Vision.
Nothing has yet to be confirmed but it would be nice to have him back in Doctor Strange 2.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled for release on May 4, 2022.
