Is Stranger Things 4 The Last Season?

Netflix already released both volumes of Stranger Things Season 4, and creators Matt and Ross Duffer already promised that this season is the biggest one yet. “I don’t think we have an episode clocking in under an hour – even in season 1 there were episodes that were like 35 minutes,” Matt said during Deadline's Contenders Television panel. “This season, they’re very long, so I think it’s almost double the length of any season. So that’s one reason it’s taken so long. It does have this sort of epic quality to it. It’s a different feel, for sure.”

The Duffer brothers already called the fourth season "our Game of Thrones season" because of its epic scale and how the show is set in multiple locations that have great distances from another. In fact, Season 4 is so big that the Duffer brothers and Netflix decided to split it into two volumes. The first volume premiered on May 27, and Volume 2 was released on July 1.

The latest trailer revealed how the stakes are much higher in Season 4 as the threat from the Upside-Down grows bigger, even teasing a new supernatural creature that will likely bring a lot of trouble to Eleven and his friends. Now, fans are wondering if the fourth season will be the last, and thankfully, we already have an answer.

Is Stranger Things 4 the last season?

No, Stranger Things Season 4 is not the final season of the show. Although it was split into two volumes, this will not be the last time we will see the beloved group of adventurers. It's easy to assume that Season 4 is the final one because of how it's divided into two volumes. Shows like Ozark, Breaking Bad, and Money Heist concluded their final seasons with two volumes.

Will Stranger Things Season 5 be the last?

Even though Netflix already confirmed that Season 4 will not be the last, we already know that Stranger Things Season 5 will be the last season, so there's one more season to go after Season 4 airs before the show wraps its story up. Executive producer Shawn Levy already explained why the show will end with the fifth season.

At this point, we still don't know if Season 5 will be split into two volumes, just like the fourth, but expect it to be a big one as well.
