The trailer for Season 2 shows that the sequel will be epic, with a lot of magical fairy action and teenage romance that fans will love.
Based on the Nickelodeon animated series that aired, The Winx Club, Fate: The Winx Saga follows Bloom, a 16-year-old changeling fire fairy who arrives in the Otherworld to join Alfea, the magical school for faeries.She learns that everything she knew about her family isn't true, leading her on a quest to find out who her true parents are, and where she came from.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Season 1 dominated the Netflix charts after it premiered on Jan. 2021, and fans were hyped after Netflix renewed the series just about a month later, but many are wondering about the future of the series beyond Season 2. Did Netflix renew Fate: The Winx Saga for Season 3?
As of October 6, 2022, Netflix hasn't renewed Fate: The Winx Saga for Season 3, but there are rumors that the next installment has already been decided. It's likely that Netflix is waiting to see how Season 2 will perform before deciding to renew or cancel it.
The Season 2 renewal was announced a month after Season 1 was released, so hopefully, fans won't have to wait too long to find out if there will be a third season.
During a recent interview with EW, showrunner Brian Young revealed that the "goal" of Season 3 would be to feature the Realm of Darkness.
"The goal is to answer what is the Realm of Darkness," Young said. "How is Bloom and her mom connected to it? Also, how it connects to our big overall mythology, which we sprinkled in a little bit of in Season 2.”
Season 2 ended with Bloom and Sky going their separate ways after Bloom discovered that her mother is in the Realm of Darkness, with the heroine planning to leave Alfea to search for her mother and destroy the Realm. So it looks like there are intentions to continue the coming-of-age fantasy.
Netflix already revealed its schedule of everything coming in October 2022, and as expected, Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 is not included.
