That Time I Got Reincarnated a Slime is one of the most popular Isekai anime and manga out there. As is the case with many works that are marketed as shōnen, the Slime Isekai is largely dependent on its strong main character, Rimuru Tempest. But just how powerful is he?
In That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime we follow a 38-year-old working man who is murdered and then get reincarnated in a magical world that provides ample opportunities to prove himself. His new life comes in stark contrast with his previous mundane one in many ways – but the most important change is that he gets reincarnated in the form of slime.

Apart from being quite funny, this premise doesn't seem to promise a very strong character… but this couldn't be further from the truth! Rimuru Tempest - as the man once called Mikami Satoru comes to be called – can be found as an entry on a website called Top-Strongest Wikia. This is a Wiki that analyses the abilities of very strong fictional characters so this alone suggests that Rimuru is a force to be reckoned with.
While Rimuru's slim form isn't particularly strong in and of itself, our many characters have a unique set of abilities which means he's a bit on the overpowered side. His most important ability, is, of course, the one that gives him the look he's more often seen with; that of a small, blue-haired person.

Not only does Rimuru have enhanced senses, but he can also devour anything, from solid things to souls. But this is not all: our hero can then use any organic or inorganic material he absorbs. For example, he can take the form of someone he has devoured.
As is the case with many Isekai works, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has a strong element of wish-fulfillment, meaning that the main character is taken to an idealized world, doing things the audience might wish they were able to do themselves.

As such, Rimuru is creative and resourceful, but he also possesses unique powers, including black fire, steel spider webs, and regeneration. In the first cour of Season 2, we find out that he can take down an entire army by himself on his way to become a demon lord.
Of course, Rimuru doesn't act alone. His nation, Tempest, is characterized by significant military strength that includes goblins, direwolves, orcs, and other monsters, making for a force of around 180.000 according to the anime wiki. But, as we have seen time and again in the anime and manga, what makes Rimuru's people strength for him isn't just their physical power but also their loyalty.
With his unique abilities and so many powerful friends and allies, Rimuru seems almost impossible to defeat. Of course, as the attack in Tempest suggests, he can't always avoid pain and defeat, but his counterattacks are fierce and all in all, it's fortunate that, at heart, such a strong character wants to use his abilities to help and unite others.
