It's no easy feat to deliver amazing scenes with everything that needs to be considered such as the acting, choreography, and costumes and for Steve Toussaint's Corlys Velaryon in House of the Dragon, it is wearing a restrictive armor which he described as "a walking torture chamber."

House of the Dragon Episode 3, Second of His Name has delivered the first ever battle scene of the series as Daemon Targaryen storms the beach as a one-man army going up against the forces of the Triarchy warriors before Corlys arrived with reinforcements.

In the West of Westeros podcast of Entertainment Weekly, Steve Toussaint breaks down the difficulties in filming the said scene, "Throughout the filming process, both Fabien and Graham would make complaints about how uncomfortable the armor was."

Toussaint reveals the complaints they had wearing their respective armor, "'Oh, it's digging in here. Ahh! I'm in pain.' We'd just go, 'Oh, shut up, deal with it.' Then when I finally had mine on, I was like, 'Oh my God, I understand what you mean. Oh, it hurts!'"

Toussaint describes the material they are wearing during the scene, "Also underneath the armor, I just remembered I'm wearing this very heavy… tunic, I suppose. Very heavy and very thick. Of course the armor isn't real metal, but it's some sort of hard plastic."

Toussaint shares what it is like to be in the restrictive armor, "Your movements are suddenly incredibly restricted. It became something of a torture chamber, actually — a walking torture chamber. But hopefully it'll look good anyway." Thankfully, it did.

Despite all that, Toussaint appreciates Corlys' axe, especially when taken into a fight, "I think with Corlys, that's a weapon that takes people out with a blow. Whereas the sword fight is a fight. You learn to parry and to twist into all that."

The battle has shown the fighting prowess of Corlys Velaryon with his brutal axe after he is seen in the first two episodes of House of the Dragon urging the king to face the Triarchy and handle the command of the Stepstones.

House of the Dragon Episode 3 witnessed the battle of Daemon Targaryen as a one-man army against the Triarchy warriors before the arrival of Corlys, Vaemond, and the House Velaryon soldiers. Laenor on his dragon, Seasmoke, stormed the scene, and Daemon finally kills the Crabfeeder.

House of the Dragon is the prequel of the beloved series, Game of Thrones, created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal based on Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, set 200 year prior to the events of the main series.

House of the Dragon Episode 3 is now streaming on HBO Max. Episode 4, King of the Narrow Sea is slated for release on September 11, 2022.
