Harry Potter Reboot Series Signs Ten-Year Deal With Max

In case you missed it, Warner Bros. is rebooting the entire Harry Potter movie franchise into a seven-season series under Max. And as of now, the rebooted series has already ordered a ten-year commitment under the streaming service.

The last film that ended the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, premiered in 2011, and while Potterheads remain enraged at the thought of rebooting their childhood series, it looks like Max is still pushing through.

HBO previously announced, “Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world.”

The company added that “the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

Max has confirmed that the Harry Potter television series will be a “faithful adaptation of the iconic books” which also means there are seven seasons due to the show. Not to mention, a new line of actors replacing the original cast.

It is questionable why Max is going through the reboot series clearly nobody asked for, especially since even Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) are refusing to return to make Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, a separate project they have in mind, too.

Back in 2022, the reboot series was initially promised to be a spinoff series from the originals. However, the rumors began circulating that a reboot will instead be coming to fruition.

The fandom had become divided upon this announcement, specifically with Percy Jackson and the Olympians getting their own reboot on Disney+, offering a similar concept of faithfully adapting the books to replace the original film series.

Let’s not forget the involvement of controversial author, JK Rowling, is literally hindering the original cast members from reprising their roles in the first place.

The author stood her ground on her anti-trans views, opposite to what Radcliffe and Watson are fighting to protect.
