Harrison Ford rose to international prominence as Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy. Still, the actor managed to avoid being stereotyped and appeared in an equally successful movie series and several other films.
In his more than five decades in the business, Harrison Ford is already an icon in his own right. Aside from receiving nominations and snagging major awards, he is also taking home the biggest paychecks.
Known as one of the wealthiest actors in the business, how rich does the award-winning star have become?
Harrison Ford Used Acting to Overcome Shyness
The now-79-year-old took a drama class in the last quarter of his senior year to overcome his shyness when he was young.
He quickly became hooked and from there, the rest is history.
He stayed in Wisconsin and joined several local theatre productions there and in 1964, he went to L.A. to audition for a radio voice-over job.
Though he didn’t get the job, he stayed in the city and eventually got accepted into a new talent program at Columbia Pictures. From 1966 to 1973, he usually did little and often un-credited works.
With a family to support, he became a carpenter and worked for George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola. He also met The Godfather producer Fred Roos, who secured an audition for him in the next George Lucas project.
He then became a part of American Graffiti and its success gave birth to the actor named Harrison Ford.
The Rise of Harrison Ford
With the success of American Graffiti, George Lucas finally got the funds to begin the production of his epic space opera from Fox.
Though Harrison Ford had unforgettable parts in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation and Apocalypse Now, George Lucas’ Star Wars made him an international superstar.
His paycheck grew from American Graffiti’s $500 a week to $10,000 from the 1977 Star Wars.

After a few decades, he earned a base salary of $15 million when he reprised his role in 2015 The Force Awakens and got a small percentage of the box office gross, bringing his total earnings to $25 million.
Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
Of course, Harrison Ford is also known for his equally successful movie series Indiana Jones, aside from Star Wars.
It started in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark, followed by Temple of Doom in 1984 and Last Crusade in 1989.
Though nothing is known about his paychecks for the first three movies, he reportedly received a massive $65 million from the 2008 Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was the 12th-largest paycheck in acting history.
His other notable salaries are $9 million from the 1992 Patriot Games, $10 million from the 1994 Jack Ryan sequel Clear and Present Danger, $20 million from 1997 The Devil’s Own, $20 million from Air Force One, Six Days Seven Nights, Random Hearts and What Lies Beneath.
Lastly, he got $25 million and 20% backend profits from the 2002 K-19 The Widowmaker.
With these salaries, it’s no surprise that Harrison Ford has a net worth of $300 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.
