Halo Infinite Campaign Launch Trailer Teases A Strange New Villain

Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has released a brand new campaign launch trailer ahead of the game's official release on December 8.

Watch the campaign trailer for Halo Infinite below:

Set several years after the events of Halo 5: Guardians, Master Chief is back and now investigating the mysterious Zeta Halo ring. The trailer features a mysterious voice appears to be calling to Chief. The new trailer reintroduces us to Master Chief and Cortana (sort of) as they reflection on how they would live differently if they knew how they'd die.

“If you knew you were going to die,” it says. “How would you lead your life differently?”

The voice sounds like the actress Jen Taylor, who plays Cortana and a new character called "The Weapon". Though it's unclear which of the two characters is speaking, it's likely that it's Cortana.

We get to see Master Chief start killing a bunch of the Banished, the new alien faction of familiar Convenant races, running over Jackals, and shooting Brutes and Grunts. There are also various familiar vehicles that Halo fans are familiar with. So far, it looks like Halo Infinite is bringing a lot of gameplay elements from the Halo: Combat Evolved.

The trailer also teases a never-before-seen female alien/robot/AI hybrid villain who warns the Spartan that "you are not the future" before fighting him.
