Halle Berry Reacts to Halle Bailey's Live-Action Little Mermaid Casting

When Halle Bailey was announced as Ariel for Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, fans thought of one thing; Halle Berry is Ariel? It took a few re-reads to figure out that it was actually Halle BAILEY who would be playing Ariel for the live-action remake but that didn't stop people from making funny celebratory posts for the wrong actress.

Halle Berry is going to join in on the fun as the actress decided to respond to the news in her own way. The X-Men and Kingsman actress congratulated Bailey and joked about how Halles get it done, which is a nice way to bring the joke to a close. Fans are having a good laugh about confusing their names since they both start with Halle and their last names start with B.

Even this writer originally wrote "Halle Berry cast in The Little Mermaid," so it's gratifying to know that a lot of people made that same mistake. This is probably why actor Michael B. Jordan made sure that the B in his name always gets announced so that no one mistakes him for the retired basketball player.

The original film deviated from the original fairy tale in a number of ways, removing some of the pain Ariel had to go through when she wanted to be human. In that tale, walking for Ariel would feel like walking on glass and that wasn't even the darkest part of the book. While the live-action film might adapt some parts of the fairy tale, they definitely won't use all of it.

No release date for Disney's live-action version of The Little Mermaid has been revealed.
