Gotham Knights Receives Series Order at The CW

For the past few months, we've been hearing that The CW is working on a Gotham Knights pilot, a potential DC series that will not be connected with the Arrowverse shows and feature a new group of heroes in Gotham City. Now, it looks like we have an exciting update as it looks like the project is now officially moving forward.

According to Variety, The CW has given a series order to Gotham Knights as well as the other pilots such as the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters and the Walker prequel Walker: Independence. This comes after the network canceled several DC shows such as Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and just recently Naomi.

The series' logline is described as: "In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son (Oscar Morgan) forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights."

Besides Morgan, the cast also includes Misha Collins (as Harvey Dent), Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, Anna Lore, and Rahart Adams. Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams co-wrote the series as well as served as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.

It is great to hear that the project has been given a series order as it means that it is officially moving forward and will be part of the network's roster of programming in the next broadcast season. While they might have canceled some DC shows, they still have a new one in the line that fans could watch soon.
