Giancarlo Esposito Confirms The Mandalorian Seasons 3 and 4 Already in Plans

While the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set to be a ‘one and done' for Disney+, The Mandalorian plans to go on for a bit longer. While fans await the second season debut next month, Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) confirms that there are already plans for the next two seasons.

Talking to People, Esposito explains:

"We're living in a universe that is huge and there's so much to explore. So I think this show is going to lay the ground work for the depth and breath that's gonna come in season 3 and season 4, where you're really gonna start to get answers."

While I'm happy to see more of The Mandalorian, I'm hoping that Jon Favreau and his team have a definitive end in mind for the series. What makes Avatar: The Last Airbender so great is that they were able to tell a complete story by the end of season 3. A lot of shows usually end up overstaying their welcome because they decided to go on for longer than they could.

Though the show tends to be episodic, The Mandalorian still has one overarching story that everyone is trying to figure out. Why does Moff Gideon want Baby Yoda in the first place? And where could Mando keep Baby Yoda where he'll be taken care of for years to come? If it's still a baby at age 50, I doubt it can fend for itself by the time it ages 100.

Hopefully, we'll get some answers when The Mandalorian Season 2 debuts on Disney+ on Oct. 30.
