Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista revealed yesterday that he would be a playable character in Gears of War 5, and today Microsoft has decided to give us our first look at Bautista in-game.
We don't really get much of Bautista, but I'm hoping that he comes with some alternate skins when he becomes available. While it's likely Disney would sue, I think it would be cool if we got a Drax skin for the character or maybe some other roles he's played in past films. Is it too much to ask for his replicant character in Blade Runner 2049 with the tiny glasses?
If anything, it's kind of cool that Microsoft is bringing Bautista into the game. Bautista had admitted last July that he was ‘trying everything' to make a Gears of War movie happen; I guess this is Microsoft's way of thanking him for his support for the franchise.
This is the second tie-in promotion that Gears is doing when it comes to playable characters. To promote the release of Terminator: Dark Fate, Gears 5 is also giving us a playable Sarah Connor. With the T-800 Terminator being added as DLC for Mortal Kombat 11, what are the odds that they'd bring the Terminator in for Gears as well?
Gears of War 5 launches for the Xbox One on Sept. 6. Bautista becomes a playable character on Sept. 15 after WWE's Clash of Champions.
