Game of Thrones Adds 2 Animated Spinoff Shows for HBO Max

We'll be learning more about the exotic locations beyond the Seven Kingdoms soon. HBO Max has just confirmed that there are now three animated spin-off shows being developed. In addition to that, a rumor about another Game of Thrones series has finally been debunked.

Back in January, it was confirmed that an animated spin-off is being developed for HBO Max. However, it looks like that's not enough for the world of Game of Thrones.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that there are two more animated shows that are currently in development at HBO Max. Although details on the two other shows were not revealed, one of the new spin-offs is expected to explore the Golden Empire of Yi Ti. The kingdom, which is based in Imperial China, is located in a far region of Essos.

Yi Ti is a great mystery for book readers and Game of Thrones viewers alike. The region is rarely mentioned in the novels. However, there is little doubt that we will learn more about the Golden Empire soon.

Interestingly, the report also revealed that a rumored Flea Bottom series is no longer moving forward. The show, which was supposed to follow the people living in the slums of King's Landing, was never officially confirmed by HBO. With that in mind, it's unlikely that this one will get the green light soon.

It might take some time before we get more details on HBO Max's animated Game of Thrones spin-offs. In the meantime, the live-action prequel House of the Dragon is already expected to premiere in 2022.
