The latest preview for the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movies shows the titular State Alchemist killer easily defeating both Edward and Alphonse Elric in their first encounter, as he unleashes his powers to dismantle Ed's automail arm and break apart Al's suit of armor.

The new trailer also reveals a few quick cuts of the films' other action-packed scenes, including Scar's fight with King Bradley and a showdown with Father, the mysterious entity that's been manipulating the events of the series to pursue his goals.

For those unfamiliar, Scar is an Ishvalan survivor who targets State Alchemists for the revenge of his slaughtered people and family. It looks like the live-action movies adapted his character and story well, and it would be exciting to watch his fight with the Elric brothers and the more threatening villains. It's likely that we will see the battles against King Bradley in the third movie, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation.
