It has been a while since we got any updates on Apple TV's ambitious series adaptation of Foundation. Luckily, the wait for the new show is almost over. The ethereal new trailer for the highly anticipated series has just revealed its official release date.

We have previously seen a glimpse of Foundationmore than a year ago in a teaser that also offered a behind-the-scenes look at how the Isaac Asimov novel is being brought to life. Since then, everything has been quiet and fans have started to fear that the series might not see the light of day.

The good news is, Foundation now has an official release date, and it's one of the first things we learn in the new teaser. In addition to that, we get to see how the Galactic Empire has ruled for centuries without fail.

Sadly, things are not going so well for the Empire as Dr. Hari Seldon reveals the truth: the Empire is dying. However, Brother Day isn't quite ready to give up his rule and this leads to a major clash between exiles and those who are not ready to let go of power.

The official description for Foundation reads as follows:

"Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire."

Foundation stars Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn, and Alfred Enoch as Raych. The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on September 24, 2021.
