It's really happening. Fortnite is set for a major crossover with the Dark Knight and the announcement trailer for Fortnite X Batman has just been released in time for Batman Day.
This is the first time that Fortnite will be crossing over with DC. The previous crossovers have been with Marvel, which introduced the Avengers as skins. While the previous superhero skins were understandably awesome, we're loving the idea of playing as the Caped Crusader.
Batman Day is being celebrated all over the world with major cities like Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, and New York shining the Bat-Signal. In addition to that, there are several Batman-themed events including a 5K marathon across the country.
Although Batman Day was initially celebrated on the 15th of September, it has been moved again this year. Interestingly, the 2019 date is only a few weeks ahead of the premiere of Joker, which will feature a young Bruce Wayne.
Fortnite X Batman is currently available. Joker, which is directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime, is scheduled for release on October 2.
