First Sonic The Hedgehog Trailer is Worse Than We Thought

Well, Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for November's Sonic the Hedgehog movie and it looks...bad. It's clear that they are going for a comedy movie here but fans will be weirded out by how Sonic's CGI model and Jim Carrey acting like his ‘90s self instead of Doctor Robotnik/Doctor Eggman. This movie could be filled with surprises later on but it looks like everything we feared it was going to be thus far.

Fans haven't seen Jim Carrey in a while and, for better or worse, he is hamming it up like he used to. The character doesn't look or act like Robotnik but ‘90s kids might just be happy to see Jim hamming it up again, which might get people's attention.

Then there's Sonic, who looks like a monstrosity. Fans were hoping that the new character model would look better in action but that doesn't appear to be the case. He looks nothing like iconic self in the video games, whether it's classic Sonic from the older titles or modern Sonic from games like Sonic Adventure. He's just ugly.

Admittedly, there is a decent joke in the end about James Marsden kidnapping Sonic but it's like finding a needle in a haystack. Fans are already voicing their opinions on the film and it doesn't look like this will be giving Pokemon: Detective Pikachu a run for its money.

Sonic the Hedgehog comes out this November. Gotta go fast?
